PNA Foundation Awards $12,500 in Newsroom Grants to Pennsylvania Newsrooms

HARRISBURG, Pa. –The Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association Foundation has awarded $12,500 in newsroom grants to five organizations to support reporting, content creation and digital services across the commonwealth.

The foundation provides awards programs, training, internships and grants on behalf of Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association and its members.

“The scope and ambition of the projects we’ve funded prove great journalism is alive in Pennsylvania,” said Cate Barron, incoming chairwoman of the PNA Foundation Board of Trustees.

Each newsroom will receive a $2,500 grant. Recipients are:

  • Pennsylvania Capital-Star for audio platform expansion  
  • Penn Live/The Patriot-News for investigative reporting in Dauphin County
  • Chestnut Hill Local for environmental reporting
  • Lehigh Valley Public Media for Spanish translation services
  • Bucks County Herald for video content services 

PNA Foundation Executive Director Tanya Henderson said the grants reflect the foundation’s commitment to strengthening local journalism.

“This is just one example of how the PNA Foundation provides services that benefit our members and, ultimately, communities across Pennsylvania,” Henderson said. “By supporting news organizations, we are supporting strong, well-informed communities.”
